Maria Ortiz

Maria is a proud first-generation college graduate and attorney. Although a native of the Hill Country, Maria is eager to be able to serve the West Texas community as a lawyer with Davidson Sheen, LLP.

In 2017, Maria graduated summa cum laude from Concordia University Texas in Austin with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. In 2020, Maria graduated cum laude from Texas Tech University School of Law. While enrolled at Tech, Maria participated in the dual-degree program where she earned her Master’s Degree in Personal Financial Planning in addition to her law degree. Maria also served as an Articles Editor of the Texas Tech Law Review.

Maria has experience in general civil and business litigation matters, while also maintaining interests in the areas of probate and estate planning. Maria began her employment at Davidson Sheen as a Law Clerk in the Summer of 2019. In her time at Davidson Sheen, Maria has assisted in a variety of civil matters, such as contract disputes, debt collection, and personal injury claims, as well as transactional matters including contract review and basic entity formation. Maria is also experienced in preparing estate planning instruments such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and guardianship documents.

In her spare time, Maria enjoys reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family. She also enjoys camping, fishing, and just generally spending time outdoors.
